| One of the finest Buddhist temples in South-east Asia . Kek Lok Si temple stands majestically on a hill in Air Itam. This temple built in tiers culminates the beautifully crafted ''Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas''. It took more than 20 years to build which features gardens, a turtle pond, shrines and beautiful sculptures. There are many souvenir shops leading up to the temple which offers good buys. And as for food lovers, famous hawker food are lined up near the Air Itam market. |

| At 830m above sea level, Penang Hill is the highest summit in the island. Penang Hill provides cool retreat and a good view over the island. For visitors with short stay, they are advice to take the funicular train ride to its peak. Operational since1922, the 30-minutes ride is an adventure by itself. Alternatively, visitors could choose to hike up the hill through the nature trails from the Botanical Gardens. The six kilometers hike takes about 3 to 4 hours. At the top, one would be treated to a panorama of Penang , a picturesque view of colonial villas and a beautiful flower garden and bird park. Bird-watchers and nature lovers will definitely enjoy the flora and fauna. Holiday bungalows are also available for rent for overnight stays. |

Founded on the 1 st of August 1803, the temple was then known as NANDY MOLOH Burmese Temple . This place of public worship was purchased y Nonya Beton from George Layton for 390 Spanish Dollars and donated to the temple. Being one if the earliest and the only Burmese Buddhist Temple in Malaysia and featuring the historical Pagoda, the temple well and Sima Hall, the temple was designated in 1988 as one the state heritages sites to be preserved as a tourist attraction. |

Wat Chayamangkalaram is a Siamese temple which was officially given its site by Queen Victoria in 1845. it was presented by Mr.W.L,Butterworth of the East India Company of Penang on July 22, 1845. This Thai architecture houses a 180-foot gold-plated statue of the reclining Buddha, Pra Buddhachaiya Mongkul 每 said to be one of the longest in the world. Behind the statue are countless niches with urns containing ashes of devotees. The interior of the temple is decorated with images of Buddha covered with gold foil. The legend of Buddha's life has been painted on the walls by leading Thai artists. |

The Penang Botanic Gardens, more popularly known as " Waterfall Gardens ", was established by the British way back in 1884 from an old granite quarry site. It is the only one in Malaysia and occupies an area of 30 hectares, set in an ideal valley-like area surrounded by forested hills. The garden has a collection of both local and tropical flora and fauna. There are hundreds of trees and flowery plants and dozens of plant houses and nurseries, fern gardens and lily ponds. Attractions also include a replica of the Penang bridge, the library and of course, the rhesus monkeys. In the evening, it is the favourite spot for family picnics and jogging. | One of the oldest Chinese temples in Penang, the Kuan Yin Teng or the Goddess of Mercy Temple was built in 1800 by early immigrant settlers from China and land given by the East India Company and originally named Kong Hock Keong or the Cantonese-Hokkien Temple, as it was jointly established by both clans. But just as mercy knows no bounds, the temple has come to be known by the name of its patron saint and its devotees include Chinese from any clan and all walks of life. The most popular Chinese temple in Penang, it is congested on the full moon days of the1st and 15th day of the Chinese lunar month, holy days for the observance of precepts. |
