One of the finest Buddhist temples in South-east Asia . Kek Lok Si temple stands majestically on a hill in Air Itam. This temple built in tiers culminates the beautifully crafted ''Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas''. It took more than 20 years to build which features gardens, a turtle pond, shrines and beautiful sculptures. There are many souvenir shops leading up to the temple which offers good buys. And as for food lovers, famous hawker food are lined up near the Air Itam market.
How to get there?
You can take public bus RapidPenang U201 or U203 or U204 from Weld Quay (ferry terminal) via Komtar. You need to stop at Jalan Pasar / Kek Lok Si.

Penang Road (Malay: Jalan Penang) is a famous attraction in George Town . There are a lot of shop houses which sell a lot of stuff ranging from bags, clothing, watches and also some local fruits and cakes. You can also take a trishaw ride as there are a lot of trishaw riders along the Penang road. There is a some pre-war shop houses still being preserved and used until today.

Campbell Street

Campbell Street is one of the city's busiest shopping precincts. The shops here sell handbags, shoes, clothes and electrical products. Some interesting shops along the street are Chinese medicine halls and teahouses. Campbell Street also has its share of restaurants and dim sum shops. Among the noted are Thor Yuen, a popular chicken rice shop, and Indian Muslim restaurants like Hameediyah.

Khoo Kongsi

Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi, or Khoo Kongsi for short, is one of the most distinctive Chinese clan associations in Malaysia . It is well known worldwide for its extensive lineage that can be traced back 650 years, as well as its closely-knit and defensive congregation of buildings and a magnificent clanhouse.
How to get there?
You can take public bus RapidPenang RapidPenang U105 from Weld Quay (ferry terminal) / RapidPenang U301 or U302 from Weld Quay (ferry terminal) or from Bayan Baru (South of Penang). You need to stop at the Kapitan Keling Mouseq (or the intersection of Jalan Kampung Kolam and Jalan Masjid Keling). Then you need to walk along Cannon lane around 200m before reaching Khoo Kongsi.

Gurney Drive have one of the best view of Penang sunset, is a favorite among families and lovers. This coastline stretch is a upmarket residential area, many bungalow lots, hotels, condominiums, and a shopping complex. Yet, in early mornings, people can be seen taking their walks along the coastline and have their breakfast at the restaurants there. Families enjoy spending time or flying kites. In the evening, crowds will flock to the famous hawker food stalls at the roundabout, and lovers can be seen strolling along the coast.

Penang Hill

At 830m above sea level, Penang Hill is the highest summit in the island. Penang Hill provides cool retreat and a good view over the island. For visitors with short stay, they are advice to take the funicular train ride to its peak. Operational since1922, the 30-minutes ride is an adventure by itself. Alternatively, visitors could choose to hike up the hill through the nature trails from the Botanical Gardens. The six kilometers hike takes about 3 to 4 hours. At the top, one would be treated to a panorama of Penang , a picturesque view of colonial villas and a beautiful flower garden and bird park. Bird-watchers and nature lovers will definitely enjoy the flora and fauna. Holiday bungalows are also available for rent for overnight stays.

Mercy Goddess Temple

One of the oldest Chinese temples in Penang, the Kuan Yin Teng or the Goddess of Mercy Temple was built in 1800 by early immigrant settlers from China and land given by the East India Company and originally named Kong Hock Keong or the Cantonese-Hokkien Temple, as it was jointly established by both clans. But just as mercy knows no bounds, the temple has come to be known by the name of its patron saint and its devotees include Chinese from any clan and all walks of life. The most popular Chinese temple in Penang, it is congested on the full moon days of the1st and 15th day of the Chinese lunar month, holy days for the observance of precepts.

You can take public bus RapidPenang U102 or U103 from Weld Quay (ferry terminal) and stop at St George's Church. Then, you need to walk along Lebuh Pitt ( Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling ) around 2 minutes to reach the temple.
 
Little India

Covering a cosy area around Lebuh Queen, Lebuh Chulia and Jalan Pasar ( Market Street ), Little India in the city of George Town , Pulau Pinang, is equally as fascinating as neighbouring Chinatown . Like Chinatown , Little India is a great place to visit if you are seeking an interesting shopping experience. All along these streets, you will find shops selling everything Indian 每 from gorgeous silk, cotton and brocade saree materials to stainless steel tiffin carriers.

Mahamariamman Temple

The Mahamariamman Temple on Queen Street , often also called the Sri Mariamman Temple , with its back facing Pitt Street (Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling), is regarded as the oldest Hindu Temple in Penang . It is dedicated to the Hindu deity Mariamman, who has a following among the Indians of South India. Scholars believe the name Mariamman comes from two words, mari meaning power, and amman meaning mother. Thus Mariamman is considered a motherly power figure.

Muzium & Art Gallery

The Penang Museum building was constructed in two stages in 1896 and 1906. the exhibits relate to Penang's communities and their customs and costumes; to historic places such as the harbour and Fort Cornwallis; to the street of Penang, municipal history, the Penang Riots and the Japanese Occupation; places of worship, and to traditional trade. Old photographs have been enlarged for display. The Penang Museum building was gazette on 19 July 1982, under the Antiquities Act 168/1976, as an Ancient Monument and Historic Site.

Batu Ferringhi is a great place to enjoy the wonderful array of Asian food and great shopping, also has some of the nicest beaches on Penang Island . The long stretch of beach is a combination of wide golden-sand, picturesque deep blue-green coves hedged by large granite boulders that seem to have tumbled from the hilly interior of the island, right into the sea. One unique feature is the exciting sidewalk bazaar that takes place every day from around 6pm until past midnight. The night bazaar is a busy and enjoyable shopping experience for visitors and plenty of haggling can be heard along the stretch of individual stalls. Trader & buyers negotiating in good humor for the best price for the variety of items on.
